Can i play back-ups with a regular Thompson?

    i have this motherboard that my friend gave to me and i am trying to get the dvd drive it needs. DO the DVD-R back-ups play fine in a thompson? Help please!

    they play fine.but the mobo changing isnt safe.it can vreak your xbox.if u both had the same xbox version then its safe.

    If both machines are modded using the same methods,there shouldn't be a problem with swapping mobos. The thing that you would have to know is the boot order on the thing so you can set your machine up. Also,if it isn't modded.....getting the dvd drive isn't the problem...it's the hard drive that is the important thing. The mobo (eeprom) and the hard drive are married together so that you have to use them as a pair. Once the machine is modded that doesn't matter anymore. So if you're getting a stock (unmodded) mobo and no hard drive....good luck,I mean it.
