Can I setup before unlocking?

    Hi,

    I just bought an iphone from the US, and I intend to use it in Canada. I need to send it to someone to unlock it for me in a few days, but what I am wondering is if I could actually set it up and start using it not as a phone before unlocking it or if that screws anything up. Please let me know, it is killing me to have the iphone and can't use it:)

    you can set up iTunes but I wouldn't sync it if I was you cuz it's best I hear to restore to a fresh 1.1.4 before Jailbreaking & Unlocking.

    thanks for your reply, sorry I am late to write as I was away on vacation. So just installing itunes won't create any problems. We are thinking of unlocking it ourselves, we were told to use the Ziphone application. Would you know a reliable website to download it from?
