ok, I have a laptop that comes with 512mb PC4300 memory.
Can I add another 512mb of ram which is labeled PC4200?

(taken that the laptop has a free slot and can take at least 1gb max memory,,,all this has been checked out)

I have read a few things on overclockers and still can't find a definitive answer,,,just that they are kind of the same thing,,,,and that 500mhz DDR-2 can be rounded down to 4200, or up to 4300 but is actually somewhere in between?

Just tell me if the above is bull !!!

    cheers

    Thanks,,that reassures me!

I realise that for total performance, they may not be perfectly matched or something,,,but as long as the system runs and shows an improvement, it will do fine for me!
