This may be a dumb question but.... How do you removed the AACS protection? Do i just delete a file from one of the folders, or do I need to use a specific program?

That part, I'm no expert in. However, AnyDVD will do it for you, combined with a regular DVD backup tool.

The critical folders you need to back up and put in your .iso are ADV_OBJ and HVDVD_TS. These two folders contain the actual HD-DVD media and navigation files. There should be three files in ADV_OBJ, and a bunch of .MAP and .EVO files under DVDVD_TS (plus a file with a ".VTI" extension)

As I understand it, to remove the content protection you'd need to NOT include any other folders (like, for example, one called "AACS"). You'd also need to remove some material about aacs protection from a file with a ".XPL" extension in the ADV_OBJ folder. This is an XML file, so you can edit it in notepad. Supposedly, the AACS material is found at the beginning and the end.

But again, I think tools like AnyDVD will take care of it for you.

check that site out it has everything you need a certain key that may or not be useful and a program (you want GUI Version 1.0) that can remove the AACS encryption and leave the HD-DVD files on your hard-drive :)

(mods if anything I posted can get me/you/afterdawn in trouble let me know what to fix and I will change it asap)
