Use better media as the burner now does not like you blank media. Try Verbatim's.

You are also burning too close to the outer edge:

Last possible write address on media: 2295103 (510:01.28, 4482MB)
Last address to be written: 2286159 (508:02.09, 4465MB)

First go to Microsoft and get Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. Second visit Intel and download the appropriate chipset installation utility and update your drivers if you have an Intel chipset. This is mandatory with External USB burners if you have one since SP2 did not properly update the chipset drivers for the controlers and Intel has a new version available. This was a bug with SP2.

DMA should be on for all devices.
    http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/DMA.html
    http://www.mrbass.org/dvdnewbie/#2
    http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/storage/IDE-DMA.mspx

I assume this is a I/O Magic or Benq burner.
    Your current firmware G7H9
    Newest current available firmware G7Z9
Next to last link on this page.
    http://www.iomagic.com/Firmware/FirmwareDownload.html
    Also here.
    http://dvdpro.club.st/firmware/BENQ_FW.htm
G7P9 and G7M9 firmware also available, but G7Z9 would seem to be the newest.
A firmware update may help burning some brands and newer types of disc's. If you do it, do it carefully and read all the instructions.

ok this is getting confusing..i already sp2, the intel thing im not sure of and not sure what to download off the intel site..and i just tried burning pirates of the caribbean again and it has just stoped at 5 % and has not said an error. Should i re author the longer movies so i don't have to use so much of the disc, would this help?

    hi

    maybe if you overburned?

or make the files smaller to fit on and not go to end of disc!
