    Gee, more flowers..... I'm overwhelmed!

After 50 years working with computers, I totally disagree with this... A "plow and pave" strategy is the very last option on the table.. Anyone who has training in the Advanced Programs for cleaning a computer has no trouble removing Trojans, Rootkits or any other malware.. The only problem I have is that most infected victims that ask for help seem to not be able to follow my instructions and branch off on their own and totally screw everything up so that a reinstall is the only thing left..
The best thing that can be done to avoid needing help with malware or computer problems is a good backup strategy using an image backup on a drive that has the letter removed so the malware can't see it....

i'll be sending you dead flowers out of my mother's garden as they'll die with you because you'll never water them.

The English word eclectic first appeared in the seventeenth century to describe philosophers who did not belong to a particular school of thought.

Today, if your poor, it’s called idiosyncrasies, if your rich it’s eccentricities…. be cool..

You guys are great. AlDan I wish I could give your just reward.
Let me know if you think of anything from my list.
    - My apologies for being away a while. (job and family and this cpu frigging-up).
    -
As for the "this file does not have a program associated with it...." problem I was having-
I found the answer after reading 20 net pages.
    (start-default programs/set program access.../(select) 'custom'/(select)firefox/(select)windows mail/OK).

I still have trouble with pop-ups and adware that I never had - I am thinking a new pop-up blocker or 3.

Thanks again ya'll. This site has always been #1 on my list, especially after other sites and forums are filled
with the types that are aching to sound like tech-genius #1 but can not hook-up an old Coleco-vision. :)
Aldan give me an e-mail if you think of anything on my list (sounds like you have great taste in music).

I am sure I will have more questions for ya'll.
Giant thanks again - ya'll keep things moving - consider the fantastic ripple-effect you make.
    :)

Router malware may redirect a few URLs such as Flash updates to pages that looks identical but is a malware server. If you update Flash from that url you will get a 'back door' installed on your computer. After that, the computer isn't really yours any more.
