Sounds like a southern USA redneck still angry over politics. There are fewer of them but they never change. They're still angry over the civil war they lost 150 years ago!

I heard that people from south Texas are very scary. I mean based on statistics, it has the most number death tolls and the government there are still continuing the death penalty for criminals.

Yes, Texas is number one in the country and Florida is number two. I don't think the death penalty will be around much longer though because we're released dozens from death row proven innocent by DNA testing. Some states have already called a halt to it. It won't be long before it hits the fan because we've executed someone innocent of any crime ... it's already a statistical certainty given the numbers that DNA testing have proved innocent.

come to think of it, death penalty won't stop criminals from commiting crime is it? So what's the point of having death penalty. Its a major sin agaisnt God the Father.

LOL! Oh, they're a breed of their own but like anyone else, some are the nicest guys you can meet while other total jerks. Problem is some just aren't well socialized ... they lived in their closed and isolated worlds and god help you if you don't fit into their definition of how society should be! Fortunately, some parts are gentrifying (sp?) Its the bible belt religious fanatics that you've got to watch. Whether they're Christians or Muslims, fanatics are dangerous and, christian or muslim, they want to force their beliefs on everyone else. I had to live among those types for a while ,,, really scary bunch!

A lot of people would call me all sorts of "liberal" names because of how I feel about the death penalty but I'm actually a lot more conservative than most of them when it comes to both crime and punishment; I just oppose it because executing an innocent man, probably many of them, is a certainty. Because of my job though, I've delt with some of the worst ... murders, rapists, child molesters etc.etc. My ideas of early releases, paroles, good behavior releases etc. are frankly pretty severe which is one of the reasons why this country is in such bad shape. I'm far more conservative than most in this regard, hell, I believe that prisons should be privatized and self-sufficient ... it does neither society nor the prisoner any good to do absolutely, they should work to pay for their imprisonment. Frankly, its not so much the death penalty I have a hard time with as much as the inevitability of executing people not guilty of anything. Its not a risk we have a right to take.

Yeah, sex offenders of all flavors are among the worst ... when fueled by a sexual need, you can bet they'll be repeat offenders damned near every time.

But you know, back on subject, Canada is such a cool place. Like any government, there is bullsh** involved in government but the welfare of its citizens has always been a greater priority in Canada. My whole family is from Quebec; I was born in the states but for a very large part, raised in Quebec. Having had a foot in both countries, I can say that there truly are great things to be said of both but when it comes to the welfare of its citizenry, Canada really has us beat but the greatest hope the US has in this regard is the demographics of the citizens, poverty hasn't had this kind of increase since the depression the elderly population is rising just as dramatically. The country will have to change simply by virtue of the changes in the needs of the voting public. At one time, politicians didn't care because the poor were the uneducated and the uneducated were the ones who didn't vote but with the american middle class disappearing as it fuses with the poorer public, the notion that "the poor don't vote" is dramatically changing and will change even more. So, if only because the public was forced, we should become more and more like the canadians when it comes to genuinely caring for the citizenry.

    Canada Jokes

As a Canadian, you have to be extra vigilant. There are a lot of impostors out there. If you suspect that someone is falsely trying to pass themselves off as a Canadian, make the following statement - and then carefully note their reaction:

"Last night, I cashed my pogey and went to buy a mickey of C.C. at the beer parlour, but my skidoo got stuck in the muskeg on my way back to the duplex. I was trying to deke out a deer, you see. Damn chinook, melted everything. And then a Mountie snuck up behind me in a ghost car and gave me an impaired. I was S.O.L., sitting there dressed only in my Stanfields and a toque at the time. And the Mountie, he's all chippy and everything, calling me a "shit disturber" and what not. What could I say, except, "Sorry, EH!"

If the person you are talking to nods sympathetically, they're one of us. If, however, they stare at you with a blank incomprehension, they are not a real Canadian. Have them reported to the authorities at once.

A French guest who was staying in a hotel in Edmonton phoned room service for some pepper. "Black pepper, or white pepper?" asked the concierge.
    "Toilette pepper!"

A Canadian bloke is walking down the street with a case of beer under his arm.

His friend Randy stops him and asks, "Hey Dave! Whatcha got that case of beer for?"

"Well, I got it for my wife, you see?" answers Dave.

    "Wow," exclaims Randy, "Great trade."
