so i rebooted my computer half an hour ago and the system gave me an error message informing me that windows cannot access my user profile and so the computer reboots to a basic page as if i am a new user. At first i thought everything had gone. But looking through explorer, i can click explore all users and see my stuff. So it is there but i do not know how too get my desktop back.

The error message said something about an i/O registry issue

    anyone got an idea?
    thanks in advance

Hey, you can try logging into an Administrators account and using system restore..........You should back up you files before you start just in case since its a registry error.
