Here is the error I am getting today after changing a memory setting in my pc. Before this (below) it was the 'error, cannot connect trf) error. Everything was fine, now I can't back up anything. I usually use DFAB and then dvd shrink. @speakslow The version of nero your using is old, try updating to version 6.6.0.18. First completely remove nero version 6.3.1.19 from your system using nero's general cleantool found here (Note: write down your serial# for re-entry later): http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/Nero_6_CleanTool.html Install nero6 version 6.6.0.18 and re-enter your serial#. Here are the links to packages 1 and 2: Package 1 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe Try it again.
I can't find my serial number anywhere and tried a search for 'hkey' and still can't find it. Is there any other way to locate it?
@johnl123, according to whompus if you convert from Nero6.3 to Nero6.6 you may be required to PAY for update so therefore I dont recommend updating. There is a thread showing latest update for Nero6.3 OK found it heres the link http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/Updates_prev.html
Here's some help from the nero site: First, make sure you have your Nero 6 serial number so you can reinstall Nero/NeroExpress after using CleanTool. The serial number should look like this: 1A2x -xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. The serial number should be located on the inside of the Nero jewel case, or on the back of the paper sleeve the Nero CD came in. You can also open Regedit (a program in C:\Windows), and go to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Ahead \ Nero-Burning Rom \ Info” to obtain your Nero 6 serial key from there.
So what can I do? And why is it telling me not enough space on target? Is that because of the change I made to memory? This is really aggravating. It was working fine for a long time, now I can't back up a thing.
Wow..I was unaware of that it would be considered an upgrade that you would have to pay for. Thanks for the info.
By the way, my change I did on my own was control panel....system...system properties..performance options..advanced. I switched the virtual memory to Init. size = 500 MB with a max of 1550. Could that have affected it. I'm shooting in the dark, I'm not even sure what I did there, it just seemed set too low at 200something. It says the size available is 1902.
When Nero does its thing it sends files to a particular folder you have chosen, when this folder becomes full it gives an erroe message like yours, you have to locate this folder and delete any unwanted files. You should have something like this, this is where my files are "sent" Go to more,Configure and you should locate this info, you need to find the first folder
Okay, I did that and here is the latest error message. It looks familiar...plus I removed my favorite (Roxy) camera program and still can't use Nero. I just tried to defrag and it says there isn't enough room on my hard drive to defrag! GEEZ! How do I find if the back ups or something else have left behind 'junk' on my hard drive. Obviously I need to free up some room somewhere.
Can you go to this link and update your burner firmware, the latest for your burner is BYX5, heres the link http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1917 One thing I DID notice is that you've freed up a lot more Memory, good one.
Double click My Computer, double click Local DiskC: and you will get heaps of files, locate Documents and Settings, double click and again you will get several sub files, locate folder (probably with your name), double click again and then locate what you DONT require and delete. Once done dont forget to Empty Recycle Bin. Also make sure you've updated your burner firmware as instructed.
