I have sony crx185e3(32xMAX)and i can't burn a cdr over 16x.I 'm using nero 5.5.9.17 and other programs. When i insert an empty cdr the max speed goes down automatically (at nero window)at 16x although at the begining the max speed was 32x (without a blank cdr into the drive).I 've tried a lot of brands of multispeed disks. PLEASE HELP

Your burner has deviced that those discs are not sufficient for 32x? Tried disabling the adaptive write speed (from the Nero "choose recorder"-menu).

Thanks for your interest! I couldn't find where to disable adaptive write speed. Nero "behaves" like i use cdrs up to 16x although they are up to 48x.

    Hi!

I have the same Problem and it also occures (but with other burning programs) that the sony drive is correctly detected as a 32x, but the disc speed ist detected far below its real speed. Pretty strange!
    Did anyone figure anything out?

    I've been burned! Dell says that I can't use my CD-RW drive (SONY& 680M 8X 1.0) to burn CD-RW over 8x.

Is this true? If so, does it also affect the CD-R?

So this is a hardware problem then?

Thanks for any help you can give so I can understand this problem.
