I got a new, external, Memorex DVD (DL) burner for Xmas but I'm having a problem getting started. A Nero 6 installation CD came with the drive but Nero 6 and Nero smart start, were already installed on my computer. So I threw a DVD into the drive on my laptop and set the Memorex drive as the destination. Then I clicked on burn and it promptly says, "COMPILATION WILL NOT FIT ONTO BLANK DISC". The blank disc is 2 hours and the DVD I want to copy is 1 hour 45 min. WHY IS IT SAYING THIS? HOW CAN I CORRECT THE PROBLEM?
You 'll need dvd shrink. It will take those larger movies and fit them to 1 disc or 2 discs. It will also take off the copyright of your movie dvd's.You already have the nero,so go ahead and download the free program dvd shrink. Are you using 8.5 GB dual layer discs. You will still need a ripper(like DVD Decrypter) to copy a protected DVD. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_decrypter.cfm
