I just upgraded my dell dimension 8250--which has xp home, to mce 2005 and it finished installing both cds without any problems. But I can't find media center!! It's not on the start menu & i tried searching for it but can't get any results. Do i have to install it as an extra feature? Thanks.
Smiles --- there more to it then putting 2 Cd's in for installing MCE2005 on a regular PC. It would take a few pages of this Forum to explain ! Thanks for the help. I didn't want to overwrite the previous version of windows-- i wanted to upgrade. I discovered when you upgrade from xp home, it just doesn't copy the media center files to \windows\ehome\ -- I can't understand why upgrading from previous versions of windows like home & pro is not suported (which really sucks). I just installed from windows (chose new installation) without deleting or formatting the partitions and media center showed up.
