Does anyone know what i can do to make my pc read DVD-R and DVD+R. I put them in my DVD Rom Drive but nothing happens. Im new to all this and don't have any idea on what to do. It is a Compaq DVD-Rom DVD-114.

    Hi there Man,
Make sure you have a DVD Decoder program to play the DVD's in. Your drive should have come with software but if it didn't, Windows Media player should play the DV's if it is up to date (Windows Update, online), or get hold of Power DVD 5, It is pretty much industry standard for playing DV media.
Check the packaging or documents that your drive came with and make sure it is compatible with reading the
    DVD-RW media.
The Burnt media may also not 'auto run' when just inserted into the drive, try opening the media manually through My Computer, good luck! Sandman.
