Hi. New to the forum but not to recording. I have a Sanyo VRDVD4005 stand-alone dvd recorder. when I record anything off of the Dishnet box, the picture and sound is beautiful but I can't call up any captioning.I've tried 2 different dvd players, when I select captioning/subtitles nothing happens. I've read the manual several times but can't figure it out. The discs I record show no menu options, just titles. When I put in a store bought pre-recorded disc, I can activate captioning just fine. Any ideas... great forum. Thanks
What you are referring to from the DVD are 'Subtitles', not captions. When you record any programs "off the air", you won't get subtitles from the dvd function but you can pull up captions from your t.v. and it will display.
