I'm in the process of converting some VHS tapes to DVD. I have one VHS of a New England vacation that has "bombed out" twice while recording with "MediaChance DVDLab"
At this moment, I am using iuVCR using the Huffy v2.1.1 YUY2 640X480 Codec with a PCM 44100 kHz 16 bit audio stream.
On screen the video looked much better in the DVDLab program than it does in "iuVCR".

What is the best Video Codec to use for recording home movies??

CCE basic, fast & good, you can use it in combination with AviSynth (scripting) if you want.
