I am using CCExtractor GUI 0.85
I am suppose to be able to extract burned in subs, but when I try, I get the following message:
"CCExtractor code=4 Error Parameter -hardsubx not understood"
Can anyone tell me how to extract the burned in subs?
    I would appreciate any help.
    Thank you

ccextractor 0.85 has a place to click on for burned in subtitles. I have enclosed a picture showing this.

you cant remove hard coded subs.. you can crop or blur them out.
if its normal subs thats attached in file just disable subtitles in your video player
