Hi, I have been having a problem burning CDs recently. I have tried Nero and other CD burning software but it's always the same - the CD will start to burn, then suddenly there's an error at 23% and the process fails and I'm left with a useless CD. I'm hoping someone on this forum might be able to shed some light on my problem. Below is my error log from Nero. My firmware is up to date, so I know that isn't the problem. The CDs are also fine, since I was able to burn several on this computer (before the error) and I tested them on another computer where they burned fine. Thank you for any help you can give me!! The first thing I suggest you do is edit this post and remove your serial number One easy question may answer your problem, what brand of discs are you using.
:O Removed the serial number...Thanks! As for the CDs, they aren't the problem since I was able to burn several of them before I started getting this error. I fear it may be a registry error, since the only thing I can think of is the registry-error software I ran several days ago. I made a back-up of that file though and restored it, but I'm still having problems. I also attempted a System Restore, but I am unable to do that as well.
There are MANY threads written in this and the Nero forums for replies such as yours. Poor media can and does cause a lot of problems, some will allow you to burn and then suddenly they start to fail because of the inconsistency of their production. Sometimes you may be lucky and get through a full spindle, other times not so lucky, so once again can you give me a simple answer to the simple question. What brand of media are you using. I have checked your log and cant find anything too much out of order. Also what is the version of your firmware.
TDK is not a top line media, so it's NOT surprising that you are having problems. If you like to take my advice then I would suggest a better quality media such as Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or Sony(made in Japan) What is the version of your firmware.
Hmmm... Well I'll have to purchase some different CDs tomorrow to find out if that's the case. I'd be a little surprised though, since I was able to burn several without an issue. I understand that that sometimes happens. I'll be sure to try another brand tomorrow. As for the firmware: MATSHITA UJDA755 1.01 for Sony
Well if thats the case your statement re firmware being up to date is also incorrect, latest version is 1.02, update from here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1834 [bold]BTW[/bold] Heres some reading on media http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262544
This taken from your log doesnt indicate it's a Sony, anyway I hope you resolve your problem. I am sure that if I am in fact incorrect then someone will advise me so, Cheers.
Yes...that's why I indicated that it was version 1.01 for sony (since I have a Sony Vaio) Thank you for your help. ETA: Also, the CDs are not the problem. I just tried burning one using my other computer and it worked.
