I have a Matshita cd-rw cw7586 and nero 5 burning program. I have been burning music for a long time but now the drive will not recognise the blank cd. I keeps coming up with "please insert a blank cd". I have tried a lot of different brands of cd and have uninstalled nero and reinstalled it. Nothing seems to work. As i said i have not had this problem before. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I would appreciate any replys. Thanks
Have you tried updating your ASPI? An out of date or corrupt ASPI can cause many many problems. Here's a good guide: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/aspisetup.cfm Post back if this doesn't help
Thanks for the help, but as i have never done this before could you please tell me what folder to unzip the files to? I have downloaded from the site. Thanks again, and i appreciate your help. Wendy
You should be able to unzip to the same folder you downloaded to and run the install MS-DOS batch file from there. After you do this you can run the ASPICHK.EXE (should be in the same folder) to confirm the install was successful.
