cd & dvd player not working

Last night my cd-dvd player stopped working. I have looked under device managers to make sure they are working properly. When I put a cd or dvd in my computer, It shows nothing under my E-drive. I can listen to internet radio without a problem. I have uninstalled both drivers (both came with the computer) and reinstalled but still no luck. Thanks

 

you might try doing a system restore to the day before you had a problem with your drives.

 

I tried a microsoft system restore to no avail. Before I try a complete system restore, could there be a problem with my cd/dvd player. When I go to device manager, it tells me all devised are working properly. thanks

 

I ended up having to purchase a new cd/dvd burner
