I bought some blank CDs but they are Sony CD-Rs Music, apparently formatted or meant to be used with Sony Walkman. I didn't realize this earlier, but can they still be used for anything or must they be used for Sony Walkmans?

I would like to use them normally as data discs, will they still function like that?

"Music" discs are also known as CD-R DA discs. They are different from regular CD-Rs only in that they include a special identification bit that allows them to be recorded in stand-alone stereo digital audio recorders as well as all other CD-R/DVD+/R drives. You can use them anywhere. Regular CD-Rs cannot be used in these stand-alone stereo recorders.
