cd rom drive

    when i insert a new cd-r/cd-rw disc in the drive i get a message that disc is 'wrong function'
    the drive works with discs which already have data in them,but i cannot burn to a cd-r disc.

    what burner program are you using

    The burner which I am using is Nero.

    how old is drive, have cleaned the burner lens with a cd cleaner disk, have you tried a different media

    Thanks for your attention. I reinstalled Nero and lo and behold everything is working again.

    go for you, i guess nero tried to burn it self just like he burned rome
