I have an old computer I decided I'd try and get working again. All is well except the CD drives aren't being detected. In the system BIOS it says uninstalled and on the Windows version that was on the HD I used there wasn't anything to say they even existed. I tried different IDE cables and also switched where in the mo/bo they plug in but the latter just made it not boot up. Could it be the drives themselves or is there another problem?

Ok, didn't know which forum to post this in. I tried each drive by themselves but it still didn't work.

swap out the ide cable, and make sure both drives jumpers are set on cable select.
