Is there any way to create CD-RW disks that will work in a normal CD Audio player - I can burn them in the fomat of a CD-A but apparently the reflectivity is too low? Or is there another problem? If it possible is there one brand that is better? Or one type (like CD RW for slower speeds).

Generally your player would need to support CD-RW. My Rega Planet audio CD player - it sometimes is able to play a CD-RW (say 2 out of 8 tries). The performance IS affected by disc brand and write speed, so you can always try. But if your drive absolutely does not recognize the disc then you have very little hope no matter what you do.
