I can no longer burn discs since the upgrade to Win 11.
I keep getting a medium error message using 3 different
    burning software.
    Ashampoo
    NCH Express
    Windows media

I use Verbatim discs and also bought a Verbatim external
cd writer and still get the same error message!!!

Called Dell support, they did a remote scan and all and suggested that i do a system restore back win 10.
    Not sure what to do.
    Do u have any suggestions?
    Thank You,
    Gary

What write speed are you using? If possible, try burning around 2x.

You should be able to burn a cd. It's supported by your drive. It would help if you tried one to see if a fix I have in mind would work.

With this procedure, you might want to first run a system restore point or perhaps save the key in your registry before proceeding-

    Run regedit.

    Go here-

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Click on Upper Filters. In Edit, select Delete.

    Save

    Reboot.

    Try a burn.

Right click on the subkey and select Export. Give it a location and name you can remember. If necessary, you can import it back into the registry later.

Have you had time to try what I suggested? Also, are you able to play a CD or DVD?

As a courtesy, would you identify if what I suggested helped or if you need more help?

Sophocles- don't waste your time. I've run into this type of person a 1000 times or more in other forums.
