When I run the program it doesn't detect any CD-RW drives. My CD-RW drive is the Sony CRX140E. Does it support that? My operating system is Windows XP.

ASPI up to date? If not, then grab 4.71 from the soft sections

I have the latest ASPI installed on my computer. I just got the drivers yesterday from cd-rw.org (the CD section of afterdawn.com).

Very nice of you to inform me what cd-rw.org is =D

Hm..actually CD-R Identifier doesn't work flawless for me either - it doesn't currently notice my only IDE drive (TDK CyClone).

Grab Feurio! it does the same job.

Same here, CDRidentifier doesn't recognize my Yamaha CRW3200e as a burner (neither do any other program that wasn't tuned to explicitly support it, by the way).

I also use Feurio to read CDR ATIPs.

Anyone here know any ASPI layer that will work with DVD+RW drives connected by firewire? Adaptec 4.60 using ForceASPI, 4.71 as well as Nero and LSI's don't seem to detect the drive. This is under WindowsXP Professional Edition.

Just an update after I replaced Adaptec 4.60/4.70 ASPI with Nero ASPI.

I found a solution that is working for Feurio! 1.65, CDRWin 3.9a, and Exact Audio Copy 0.9 Beta 4 getting the drive to show up and working but CDRIdentifier v1.63 still doesn't see the drive so maybe it's a limitation of CDRId. What I did was put WNASPI32.DLL in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 from Nero ASPI from www.cdspeed2000.com since it seems like Adaptec ASPI 4.60 and 4.71 isn't able to support Firewire/USB devices but SCSI/IDE only.
