I have some mpeg files that I wanted to recode for my ipod. When I play them on my computer they are a 4:3 aspect. When I am finished recoding them, everyone is short and fat in the classic 16:9 style. I was going to try turning off letterboxing but I can't seem to do so. Or is there a program that will let me change aspect ratio of vidio files?
What program do you use for conversion? Nero Recode doesn't import regular mpeg files from what I know, needs a DVD...
Nero will do the more popular video files like AVI, mp4, & DivX if you are going to Nero digital. I am still kinda new to the whole thing. I usually just recode DVD's to burn. But my mp3 player died and I ended up with an iPod. Kinda nifty if you can see past the cultish characteristics. I downloaded a movie and whoever encoded it forced a 16:9 ratio onto a 4:3 format. I thought by changing the vid size and or the cropping I could trick it into compliance. To no avail.
