I have a hearing problem and find that some audio codecs (e.g. AAC) help. Using one of a number of audio converters I have tried I find I can convert existing audio tracks into a new file which will then be a sound only file. What I would like to do is have a full new file with the existing video and the new audio tracks. Is that possible? Much appreciate any advice.

I assume these are avi files, so try AviDemux.
Open the video file, then on the left sidebar, change the audio from 'Copy' to 'AAC'.
Save the file with a new name (including extension) e.g. newfile.avi

Very grateful for your suggestion which worked perfectly on AVI and AAC. I want to try working with the program with other variations.
