Roxio or some packet writing software is on your computer..... this interferes with DVD writing! try using Roxio zapper: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml
Yes that pesky Roxio stuff came pre-installed on my Dell. So I downloaded that remover and restarted and I got a message on my boot up screen that I see every now and then. This error actually affects my DVDR because if I try to open or do anything with the DVDR with the first boot after this screen, it doesn't work at all. The error is: Drive 5 not found: Parallel ATA, PATA-1 (PRI IDE Slave) Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility I've actually attempted asking a tech board about that problem in the past and the completely ignored me. Anyway, so I got another error about a drive on one of my programs, told it to fix that driver and restart. After restarting I did another simulated burn with the new version of Nero. I don't know if it's the version that's doing this or what's going on but it still says it's undetecting the media. Here's the new simulate log. Earlier today I attempted to burn another disk and it's still a bad picture. With all these coasters, I can't afford to poke around any longer. You are still using bad media Also, check your main drive is on Master and the second is on slave.. http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/Jumper Settings for your Drive.pdf See that ^
I have a zero income. I can't afford to place an order for whatever media everyone on this board uses. I am using TDK and it's great. I've been using it for a long time and never had any problems. I wish people would stop telling me I'm using bad media like I'm some cheapo that is using some generic stuff. I stopped using the Sony because it's worse like all media ends up being from Best Buy and now my drive takes 40 minutes to burn anything. My problem is there's only these two compilations that can't burn with a good picture. Everything else is fine. I have poked around forever and there's no remedy. The drives have not been tampered, I purchased a top of the line Dell and first my drive is crap, then my media's crap, then my DMA is off, I reset it and it doesn't change but apparently it's on but it's not. Argh, does anyone understand why I'm getting so annoyed? My burner is now almost completely useless ever since I removed the driver and rebooted. I feel like nothing I do can fix this and I know people are trying to help but seriously stop telling me my media's bad unless you're willing to send me a while stack of Verbatim that actually works or Tayo Yuden. I give up on this compilation. I've made at least 50 of them for my tape trading site and never had a problem until now so I give up. Thank you all for your help but I'll go sulk now realizing I spent tons of money for a new computer with a cheap burner and $50 on bad media.
You should have just bought better media to begin with since Sony is a good media and only $1 more expensive. http://www.amazon.com/TDK-DVD+R-4-7GB-Spindle-50/dp/B0001NGE06 http://www.amazon.com/Sony-50PK-DVD-R-4-7GB-8X-SPINDLE/dp/B0002375F8/ I personally experienced a similar problem. Had 0 problems with Sony media yet one particular project simply would not turn out properly. It can be frustrating but perhaps you should try burning with something other Nero Burning rom.
