I have a g-i-g-a-n-t-i-c recurring problem with my cable tv's DVR. Charter Commun. uses the Cisco DVR and it is auto-rebooting.

When it reboots, it loses a-l-l my stored recordings and the future recording schedule gets deleted. Everything gone! Then I won't let me record but one show at a time.

Where can i post this request for help?
    Which forum here?
Or is there a better online forum at some other site?

    Thanks!!

If I understand correctly, this is the dvr from your cable provider supplied by them to use on their cable system.

    Have you contacted THEM??!!

Of course I have spoken with them. Every time they say "that's weird" or "i've never seen that before". They are not the most educated folks in America, as you probably know.

I am on my own for this since they are clueless. Hence, the question is here.

Take the DVR back and tell them to give you another one because the one they gave you isn't working properly.

It started in January 2012, when they swapped out a Scientific Atlanta dvr (small hard drive) with a Cisco dvr (10x larger HD).

I know it has to do with this model, but can't put my finger on it. Of course, the techs, installers and service people do not have trouble shooting equipment or skills.

If they can not or will not fix it or replace it - I stick with my last comment. Dump 'em.
