Hi there. I just used Clone dvd 3.0 and DVD 43 with Roxio to back up my dvd and they did well, but I just happened to have two Columbia-Tristar dvd and, even though the green face for dvd 43 shows it simply doesn't work, just freezes, and Clonedvd too. It has only happened with these two particular brands of dvd, they are like red-orange colored.
    Thanks

Similarities include "DVD" and both being freeware.

Your Columbia movies are most likely protected by the new Sony Arcoss which DVD43 can't defeat. Your options are to use either Slysoft's AnyDVD or the newest version of DVD Decrypter both of which can bypass Arcoss.

    Hey, thanks for the reply.
I guess something like that is happening, 'cause in my neighbour's pc we couldn't make it happen either.
But then again would it work with Roxio software? And what if the dvd is bigger than 4.4GB?
    Thanks a lot!

Roxio is strictly a burning app so it can't bypass any sort of protection.

If the DVD is larger than 4.4GB you can either rip the DVD with DVD Decrypter then open the decrypted files with Clone and proceed as normal or you can run AnyDVD in the background. Decrypter is free but involves an extra step whereas AnyDVD is a pay for app but will allow you to use CloneDVD exactly as you are now with DVD43.
