    Hi

I'm kinda a rookie in this whole phone concept and it would be nice to have a helping hand point where I can resolve my problem.

I'm going to buy an used I phone (3G) from my friend of mine, who bought it with a contract with a telephone company (Rogers). My plan is to replace my SIM card with my old phone to the new iphone. From what I understand, they put some kind of "lock" inside the phone software so I cannot use other telephone services SIM card. Since, my current telephone provider is not Rogers, is there a way to make it so the iphone works with all telephone providers ?

    Thank you very much.

EDIT: It works. No unlocking needed.
