North bridge: The north chipset on a motherboard responsible for organising the processors instructions to and fro other devices. South bridge: The south chipset dedicated to smaller functions like USB control. The northbridge is the one that does a lot of work and needs good cooling. In many modern mobos the North/south idea has been done away with and there is one Central chipset like the nForce 4 Ultra for example. Dual channel RAM is the use of two identical sticks of RAM to run at double speed and still give double capacity.
ohhh, that helps, thanks see basically i want to keep all the stuff i have on this mobo i use now and switch over to a new mobo because thats all i can afford untill next check.. will i have to pick out new memory for diffrent types of boards? or can i use the ones now becuase im looking at this mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131589
Opps i posted the wrong link... click the new link and let me know what you think about that mobo?? do you think i will be able to take everything from this computer and put it on that one???
alright another problem You guys must be getting sick of me, what tool should i use to remove the mobo?? should it be magnatized or non magnetic? and i know u hold ur self to the case so u discharge urself from any electric shock..
you're best off with an anti-static strap of some kind, but the truth is, you'll always be at risk of static. I laid my case side on the floor and put the mobo on top of it, handling only the plastic PCB edges.
ok that mobo i showed you the way its like set up like where the keyboard, mouse, ethernet, audio etc. well it dont match most case's so can i remove the part where the audio keyboard etc fits so the mobo can fit in???
