    lol - agree w/ Ripper!
Been there & done that w/ cmc, princo and a few others.

Use the good stuff like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. You'll be fine.

@Binkie...... I'm lucky. all my beginner Memorex is RICOHJPN disks. All of them still work and it's been over 3 or 4 yrs now. I was lucky enough to come to Afterdawn and learn about what media is good and what media is crap! I must admit that I did have some Fuji that was CMC MAGs and I quickly redid those up! LOL

I had to learn the hard way :) Trial & error - oh what fun :0)

Seems ever time I got Memerox, Dynex or any other off brands all were CMC & low end stuff. I just have that kind of luck :)

    Someone beckon?
Like most Newbies, I had absolutely no idea which type of DVD to buy, never heard of Verbatim, never heard of Taiyo Yuden, Used Sony and Memorex at first, whichever was on sale. About 6 months later I discovered that my Memorex DVDs no longer played without freezing, without skipping, whereas the Sony, TDK media have played flawlessly. After discover this site, I soon learned that Memorex,(made by CMC-Magnetics corporation) have a habit of deteriorating over time. So, I had to recopy the movies I had made on Memorex. Moral, stick with the good stuff, it lasts. Read thru all of the numerous Nero posts about burning problems which are caused by poor media. So, unless you want to waste your time and effort backing up your movie collection, buy the good stuff. I'm sure Joe will be here soon to defend CMC, but to each their own choice.
