Coaxial going directly into lcd tv vs Cable box with HDMI going to lcd tv?

    I have comcast and a HD dvr cable set top box. Right now i connect the coaxial cable to the STB and then hook the hdmi from my STB to my tv and HD channels look real good.

    My tv has a tuner so would i get better picture quality if i just directly connected the coaxial to the lcd tv instead of using the STB? What would be the differences?

    No using the hdmi should look somewhat better.
