when i convert a film and put it on to a disc and then wach it on my telly i notice that the picture is in squares has this any thing to do with codecs? what codecs do u lot recomend? thanks alot
If you are converting a DivX or Xvid coded movie to DVD or VCD to watch on a standalone DVD player then the format should be in MPEG1 or MPEG2. Standard DVD players do not have a DivX/Xvid decoder unless you have a special player. The boxes you have may be due to aspect ratios or other conversion methods you may have used.
