What Operating system are you using?

I am not a fan of Norton, try and disable it before you close down, and does this have any affect?

im also not a big fan of norton....really it hardly catches any viruses.....go to trenmicro.com and run there free beta version of the new PC Cillin....its a great program...it catches most viruses, and will let you delete them unlike a lot of beta versions.....also you should download the beta version from microsoft of ther ANTISPYWARE program....great program....reply back...

try shutting down norton before shutting down computer & try same without shutting down norton to see if norton is causing the problem.
