I have got a Compaq Armada E500, but have currently experiencing problems with my DVD-ROM. I need to replace the drivers, but cannot find a driver ANYWHERE!! Does anyone know where I can download one? Many thanks, Paul
Hi, XP should handle the drivers for ROM. Is there a specific problem you're having with the drive? I found this link but there's no mention of DVD ROM drivers. Maybe it'll help: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/f...del/1006.html?locale=en_US&prodSeriesId=96231 _X_X_X_X_X_[small] JMLS-166S/Plextor PX-708A/Plextor Premium My Movies! http://www.intervocative.com/dvdcollection.aspx/Rephaim Got Indie? http://cdbaby.com/[/small]
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the link didn't have any DVD-ROM drivers on it, I can't seem to find one on the net anywhere. The DVD-ROM isn't being recognised in My Computer. I looked in the Device Manager and the drivers are disabled & I can't for the life of me seem to be able to re-enable them. The drivers are still there, but don't seem to be working. If the drivers are on XP, maybe I should reinstall XP, I think I will also try to take the drive out and physically re-install it. Aside from this, do you have any other suggestions?
Hey Try going into Device Manager, and right clicking the DVD-ROM drive, and Click Un-Install. Do the same with the IDE channel it is on, then restart the comptuer. When windows starts up again, it will install the drivers again for them, and see if that works. Regards CoZZa
