When I go on AIM and start instant messaging, the computer beeps every time i send and receive messages, and also when people log on. Can anybody help me disable this annoying beep. Thanks

Start / settings / control panel / Sounds and audio devices / sounds.
Just go down the list and set the ones you don't want to NONE.
AIM should also let you turn off sound from the program itself.

for other people having this problem. its caused by your sound drivers not being installed.

just thought i would post the solution since dumb ass didn't describe how he solved it. So that other people can refer to his findings.
