Hey guys, OK i have found 2 drives, for a good price. Western Digital: 320GB IDE 8MB Western Digital: 320GB SATAII 16MB What do you think?
First, to make the links work correctly, remove the [url from them. Second, the drives have different interfaces, you will need to see if you need SATAII or IDE.
OH sorry about that. Western Digital: 320GB IDE 8MB http://www.pccyber.com/?v=Product&i=HD-WD3200JB Western Digital: 320GB SATAII 16MB http://www.pccyber.com/?v=Product&i=HD-WD3200KS Right now I'm on a 200 GB SATA interface.
Then the 320GB SATAII Drive should be fine. Make sure you have another SATA port available in your computer if you want to hook them both up at the same time. If your motherboard does not support SATAII then you may have to jumper down your new hard drive to a SATAI interface.
?"I run Norton Internet Security and AVG Anti-Virus, and they both say im clean. "? I'm old school and from experience I had learnt that a PC should only have one anti-virus program on it or they will make your PC do strange things because they will fight each other. I would clean one off Hope I was helpful
You guys are never going to believe this! I fixed the problem!!! I'm soo happy! After Zer0ink suggested to uninstall one of my virus protection apps. i did. But the problem still occurred. So i went ahead and uninstalled both AVG and Norton... but that didn't solve anything, this did lead to the solution though. I then went to Process Explorer, and noticed that every time the song/video skipped, a process called DPC's would spike. I only noticed this now because there was nothing else interrupting the CPU, such a virus protection. I then got a random idea... to unhook my Linksys Wireless N adapter... Low and behold, the skipping problem stopped, i listened to music for 20 mins. with no skips. Just for fun i hooked the adapter back up, and the skipping stated again. I cant believe it took me 3 weeks to figure this out! It makes sense now, cuz the problem started right around when i got wireless N. Thank you so much, to everyone who helped me out on this problem. I'm sorry if i wasted anyones time.
Good to hear that the problem is solved but was it with streaming video on the PC's hard drive or over a network?
I think you should get a wireless G router with speedbooster, those are fast and I would try to return your existing router.
Old thread back to life. If you use the Windows software for a wireless N card it skips. Use the software it comes with.
lol i still haven't fixed the problem. I just got used to the skipping. So I'm using the windows connection stuff, not linksys. So u think i should change back to the Linksys Wireless Monitor?
Yes. Completely remove drivers and use the Linksys utility. I had the same problem with my Buffalo Wireless N USB when using Windows.
I can't uninstall the windows stuff. Its just the default connection shit. Its like part of the OS. Hmmm aight ill try that and see what happens. I'm also going to try connecting the adapter right into my comp, rather then the USB stand thing...
I can't say i've ever read anything good about Draft N wifi. You could maybe try setting the router to run on 'G' instead, i'll wager that works infinitely more stably than 'N'...
I didn't say anything about removing the Windows Utility, Just drivers. Reinstall and be sure to use the Linksys utility then. Connecting it through a stand shouldn't matter.
