There is also a coupon I could use that gives a 25$ discount. I really don't know which to get. I play games like WOW Lineage2 HL2 FEAR Age of Empires and most likely Starcraft 2 when it comes out.

What do you recommend if I'm going to be playing those games? I also edit video and do photoshop stuff.

Thanks so much for your help thus far! I really appreciate your advice! :)

If I buy one of the three video cards mentioned above and find out that it's my motherboard that's causing the problem. Can I buy an SLI board and put both video cards in there? I mean they are different video cards so will they work together????

I have the following two cards in my computers and both have played games really well and never let me down.

    GeForce 6600GT
    http://www.sparkle.com.tw/product.asp?id=9

    EN7600GT/HTDI/256M
    http://uk.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=2&l2=6&l3=271&l4=0&model=1175&modelmenu=1

Prices have crashed on both since i purchased and both are value for money and are very affordable you won't break the bank purchasing them.Although the 6600 is APG which i have it is also available in PCI.Personally when i purchase a graphic card i always spend around £130 on one which i class as middle range as most cards around £130-£180 i have found it difficult to compare as there all pretty simular in how they perform.Obviously above this price i see them as high end range which in this case i would rather spend the money on a console myself then go over the top.

The answer depends on how much money you have to spend, you may as well make a decent upgrade of it, so even if it wasn't the fault of your graphics card, you've gained extra performance.
Starcraft 2 is going to be reasonably demanding, so I'd recommend going with something at least as powerful as a 7600GT.
If you can afford a 7950GT, great, if not, go with the 7600.

Here is an update of my situation.
I purchased the eGeforce 8600 GTS from newegg.
It came in today and I installed it replacing my old video card.
I am still having the same problem with no display on my monitor.
I hook the monitor up to my laptop and I get a perfect screen!
    Help! What should I do?
Is it my mobo? garrrr! :(

    OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got so pissed that I threw the MOBO on my bed and noticed a piece came off. I put that piece back on my mobo "flash something" chip and now it works. Is it worth returning the new video card or should I just sell the old one???

You guys have been so helpful. I really appreciate what you guys do for free! Thanks a bunch!

Out of past experience you always loose when you sell computer parts on as the prices are always dropping on new parts.I purchased my 7600gt not to long ago for £115 and recently i have seen them for around £80.So if you was happy with the old card and it does everything you need then just take the new one back save yourself some money.

Yeh it all depends on which version you purchase as the 7600gt is made by several companys and all look different but i'm not sure if some out performs the other.

    XpertVision GeForce 7600GT 256MB DDR3, PCI-E, DVI, SLI, Retail £62.04 Inc VAT
Sparkle GF 7600GT 256MB DDR3, PCI-E, DVI, HDTV, TV Out, Retail £66.98 Inc VAT
MSI GeForce 7600GT 256MB DDR3 PCI-E, Dual DVI, HD Ready Retail £94.82 Inc VAT
Gigabyte GF 7600GT SLI 256MB DDR3, PCI-E, DVI, HDTV Out, Retail
    £98.47 Inc VAT
    MSI Geforce NX7600GT 256MB DDR3 PCI-E, DVI, Retail
    £105.05 Inc VAT

There is a few versions of which mine is not included as it's not on this site i took prices from but there is loads more versions of the 7600gt to choose from very confusing who said picking a graphic card was difficult these days.

I feel so stupid right now. My computer was sluggish and used ccleaner on it and this is what happened to my computer.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/174630

Is there anyways to get by this without reinstalling windows????

Will newegg take back my video card? I still have the 15 day warranty. I mean I opened it and tried it on my computer. Will they still take it back? I saw 15% restocking fee. That's about it.

Other than using the repair console with your XP disc, there's not much I can think of. Guess luck comes and goes...

 at the 7600GT for $80, they're still nearly £80 over here...
