Computer will recognise only one of two DVD installed

    I installed two Sony DW-D22A DVD burners. My computer onely sees one. checked the bios and it only see one burner. I have a Dell Dimension 4100 with Windows 2000. Any suggestions?

    Do you have them both on the same IDE cable? I have read that on some systems with 2 drives by the same manufacturer that problems could show up. Sometimes placing the drives on different IDE channels helps. Just a guess. It may help unless thats the way you have them already, then I have no idea.

    if drives on same cable, make certain they are set as master & slave not cable select!!!. set 1 drive as slave to hd & other as master on secondary cable
