constant or variable?

    Whats the differce?Im using dbpoweramp and I have a 723bps song VBR,And the same song at 302bps(CBR)But the VBR is smaller,Witch is better?

    in short VBR is MUCH better. it controls the right amount of compression needed at each frame to provide the best encoding quality possible. Your numbers don't quite make sense though, as mp3s can only be encoded to 320 kpbs. Here is a thread already covering this topic:

    I meant 320,I wrote it wrong and did'nt see it.
