Hello..andy25..If u open your VIDEO_TS folder check if you have your large VOB files these will be in sequence VTS_01_1,VTS_01_2..etc
If u have the smaller files 2-VIDEO_TS,2VTS_01_0..total of 4 of these along with all your VOB's..All u have to do is burn..However if u don't have the 4 smaller files..Your DVD Player will not reconize it as a Video..it won't play..
If all u have are the VOB files you will need to us DVTools to make the 4 smaller files u need

WELL there..WestrnGuy..U don't say what u are trying to convert? If it's an AVI or Divx why don't u just use VSO DivxToDVD..Much..much simpler & u have all your VOB files which is DVD standards

Don't forget u will need the .BUP & .IFO files added to your VIDEO_TS Folder..or your DVD's won't play
Do u have or know how to use IfoEdit..http://www.ifoedit.com/

HELLO..WestrnGuy... if it's DivxToDVD it's basic open it up (SOURCE fILE)CLICK ON THE LITTLE FILE..another window opens..find the file u want to convert..click on that file..now click open, now u got your source file!!
Next...(Destination folder)..again click on the little file..now figure out where u want your new movie put..now just click that file & click ok..So now u have afile in & a file out..NOW JUST CLICK CONVERT..Sit back back & wait..it takes about the same amount of time to convert the movie..as to however long the movie is..My computer 2.2GIG 2:00hr movie takes 2:00hr to convert..I made a folder on my hard drive called DVDTemp..that puts it pretty close to the top of the list of files i have on my harddrive
Let me know if u understand this & get your VOB files made alright?I'll send u instructions on IfoEdit in a bit
Christ u get up early!!all mt messaging will be late afternoon or evening might take a while as I don't do anything while I'm converting..I even turn off my modem & disable firewalls & antivirus

Ok ...WestrnGuy..here's IfoEdit..open it..at the bottom u will see a box (Create IFOs) click on that..got a new window now this is important do this fist..(ALWAYS)..where it says Destination directory for IFO files..click on that & make sure u have a check mark in it..now click on the square to the right where 1st VOB of Title-Set..now find the file where u but your movie..click on the VTS_01_1.VOB..now click open now your 1st VOB of Title-Set has a file in it...now click OK...That's it..In a few mins you will have a working DVD Movie to burn..Just burn & sit back & watch the bugger on your TV

If u know how to highlight..copy & paste..U can copy this to notepad till u got it in memorized & all this becomes 2nd nature to u..Me I gotta keep notes
Don' forget to send me a Thanks if all works out..That way I'll know I'm not wasteing my time..any problems with my directions..just post it & I'll get it in my E-Mail..I'll get back to U ASAP..GOOD LUCK

HEY Their Again..WestrnGuy..I don't really know as i don't use SubTitles..But it seems to me that if u go to this site u might find your answer..I think u can do all that in IfoEdit..I only use it to make the new files I need to make my DVD's compliant..With new BUP's & IFO's
JUST COPY & PASTE this address in your go

thanks,it worked out fine, but no subtitles.is there any program you know that add permanent subtitles to avi?
one other thing,i have some avi films divided in two diferent files,is there any way to convert them in one file alone,so they can be played one after the other?

thanks again for helping me out

dvtool will combine your files..just remember they are at or about 700megs for a reason..anything over won't fit on a disc
divxtodvd will combine your files just keep adding files till your hearts content..the more u add the more its got to compress..i don't like putting more then 1 movie on a disc..but if what u got is a split movie then just add both parts to divxtodvd..then convert

after reading all 14 pages and searching extensively i cant find an answer to the unsupported file type in tmpg. my file is a valid avi file as verified by AVIcodec, Gspot, etc... but my file is still unsupported. I downloaded all the necessary codecs but i cant get this to work. Is there another way to do this?
