It is easy, just download software from:
[REMOVED] to have a try, and read the article carefully.

Blatant pimping of other sites isn't appreciated or tolerated so it would be a very good thing if you can find it within yourself to actually provide help here in the forums because if I see you continuing to pimp that site you'll be shown the door.

Hello Crunchee..If u are aquainted with Afterdawn..u will find a multitude here over & above just the forums Software[some free, some shareware]Links to others etc..some program will do what they call a batch..which is putting a group of files in 1 project to convert[DVDSanta is 1]does a fairly good job..but has its draw backs
U can even find a good program to join your files [DVTool]is a good 1 then use VSO AVItoDVD..this is the method i use when in a hurry..only takes a couple of hours this way..U just have to find what suits U..Some here swear by certain programs..but as I've found..whats good for the goose is not nessaraly good for the gander.
When I run accross a good movie that I define as a keeper..I use procoder..this can be an all nighter..sometimes as much as 8hrs..but I've never found a movie that it takes less then 5hrs..course this depends on your computer mine runs at 2.2gig with 512mem which is just par for todays standard..hard-drives are important..it is highly recomended that u have 2..I like the 250 gig..but u don't need that much..hard-drives are really not that costly nowadays..I've seen them as low as $30.00 for an 80gig..but definately 2 is better for speed & quality

Thanks for the reply rick that helped me out a bit. Can you or maybe anyone else elaborate a little bit more on how to go about it, step by step?

Crunchee...If u have or download the software..it is pretty much self explanatory..their are guides here at afterdawn..VSC AVItoDVD IS EXTREMELY easy..DVD Santa..also easy
Procoder..a little harder..gotta have common sense & be willing to make a few mistakes to learn...just remember 1 thing..the only way to do it right..is to do it wrong a few times

IF U are talking about DVTOOL..JUST ADD your files to merge..set your output to where ever u want to save:& hit go

I have been trying to convert some avi files using DivXtoDVD and I keep getting this: Delay of audio #0 = 483 mS. Can anyone tell me what this means?

This might be the place to ask -- or at least ask for directions:

I want to record AVI files from one computer as they're playing, onto another computer in order to generate MPEG files, to the end of putting those to DVD.
(At this point I'm not clear on whether this would be both a hardware and software problem.)

I converted an AVI to DVD once and it was very grainy, so what I have instead imagined doing is somehow capturing the AVI image as it plays, then working with that captured image.

I can make MPEGs from video with CapWiz, and I have two computers, so is there a way to connect the two computers in similar fashion to how I connect the VCR to the computer through the decoder when I use CapWiz?

The objective is to play the AVI (let's say with PowerDVD) and somehow intercept the stream the way CapWiz does, generate an MPEG from it, which then can be put to DVD.

I'm thinking that doing it this way sidesteps byte-for-byte conversion?

My main reason for wanting to convert in the first place is because when I play the AVI file on PowerDVD the window has to be manually adjusted; plus the window doesn't fill the full screen as it does when playing a DVD, so anything in the background can be seen; plus there is no replay-from-where-you-left option with the AVIs.

No matter what the final remedy, I am interested in knowing about recording video from one computer to the other.
That said, maybe there's something easier to do here: an AVI to DVD conversion method I don't know about yet, or a player better suited than PowerDVD to play AVI...

Thanks in advance for any help.

Here is my question. Read through a few pages of this and seeing as my problem wasn't hit on, thought I would ask anyway. I have a lot of video files, AVI, DivX, etc. that I would like to put onto dvd so I can watch them in my player instead of on the computer. I have used divx to dvd for this and everytime I do there is a 1-2 second lag on the sound. Naturally this makes it impossible to watch. Anyone know how to solve this problem using this program? Or are there another set of programs I should use to accomplish this?

    OUT of SYNC AUDIO-VIDEO
the audio was probably not made carefully enough...
The quick & easy fix is to re-interleave your AVI, using: probably NanDub would be best
    http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ndub/nandub-binary-1.0rc2.rar
You need to set both audio and video to 'direct stream copy'.
You cannot slow the audio down, instead you must increase the video framerate.
For example, if it is standard 23.976 you could change it to 23.984
There will be a recommended framerate listed, which will allow the audio and the video to finish
at the same time (which is what you want :)
But trial & error is the only sure way...
Ideally you will read the AVI from one drive, and write the new file to another.
If you have only one HD, try to read from one partition and write to another.
If you have only one partition, make sure you don't overwrite any files - make a different (destination)
    folder.
By manipulating video framerate and advancing or retarding the start of the audio, there is no
messed-up AVI that cannot be fixed, or at least made more watchable.

hya ive been converting avi/divx/xvid files to dvd for some time now using nero and sometimes winavi converter with only a few problems but most of the time it works fine.I can convert and burn a full avi movie usually about 700-800mb in roughly 3 hrs. Is the right sort of speed i should expect? Whats the fastest conversion program around? It may just be me being an impatient git but i want it to go faster!!! any ideas

Hello jimmi101..Vso DivxToDVD is about the fastest free converter..some movies are about real time to about 1.40 of real time..but mostly it depends on your computer speed..I'm useing my times for a 2.2 gig computer
