    I got a question hopefully someone can help me with this..., I convert .AVI files with DivxToDVD, they work fine on regular DVD players or MSIDVD on a PC, but when I try to play them on media player clasic , or windows media player, They won't play?, Original DVD's will play but not the conversions, Does it have something to do with a setting or the DVD's I'm using ?, And what's the difference between DVD-R & DVD+R ?, Thanks for any help anyone can give me !

    Convert it using DivxToDvd, then use Dvd Shrink to back it up making it into an (.ISO)

    Hi there,

    I'm trying to burn a DivX avi to a dvd and having real trouble. It had VBR mp3 audio so I used VirtualDubMod to save the audio as an uncompressed wav, it came out the same length as the original avi.

    I frameserved the video to CCE 2.66SP via Eclcce, using the following simple avisynth script.

    clip=AVISource("E:\Working\input.avi", False)
    aud=WAVSource("E:\Working\input.wav")
    AudioDub(clip,aud)
    ResampleAudio(48000)
    LanczosResize(720,480)
    ConvertToYUY2()

    Seems to encode no problem but while the audio comes out as an mpa the proper length, the video stream winds up 4 minutes short throwing my audio way out of sync. The entire video stream does encode I'm not missing footage off the end.

    The original avi was Progresive 23.97, I tried using the pulldown in CCE and tried without adding pulldown afterwords with a couple of tools.

    I'm probably missing something obvious did my best to follow the settings in the guide at the beginning of this thread, but I might have messed up. If anyone has a suggestion it would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Shamus.

    I would recommend VideoCharge. I've been using it for about 1 year and I'm completely satisfied with it. No problem with converting DVD to AVI! More information about this program you can find at videocharge.com

    I've been using tmpgenc to convert AVI files to MPEG successfully. But recently i encounter error when converting AVI file. I did the same procedure, but there is an error message that say "cannot open, or unsupported." what could be the problem?

    The file information:
    bit rate : 127 kbps
    audio format : lame mp3
    frame rate : 23 frames/sec
    data rate : 139 kbps
    video sample size : 24 bit
    video compression : DivX
