convert movie file to home dvd

    I downloaded a movie and want to copy it to dvd-r or dvd-rw to play on my home dvd player, Can anyone tell me how to do this and what I need?.

    What format is the d/l file in ( as avi?)

    it just says video clip with a Windows Media Player icon

    I used dvd flick
    but still can't watch the dvd on my home player. What else do I need to do?

    Most likely

    1) need to convert avi to dvd format (dvd fkick does this)
    2) need dvd shrink to compress if dvd file > 4400 Mb
    3) need dvd shrink to create iso output file.
    4) burn resultant iso file to dvd with imgburn
    5) watch dvd on standalone player

    Can I use dvd+rw to record on?

    I have wasted a box of dvd-r trying to record
    this movie to watch at home nothing is working.

    Probably would have been cheaper to just have bought the movie DVD...lol

    So right!But one day i will want to copy movies
    for my family and would like to know how. With as little trouble as possible. AND FAST

    Then buy the original DVD and make yourself a backup.....
