My apologies for the novice nature of my question: How do I convert some downloaded .ram (RealAudio) files to mp3 or similar format so that I can burn a cd and then play it back on my boom box? Thanks in advance! drgnldy
dBPowerAMP is a great free audio tools that converts all types of audio formats. you can find it here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ be sure to download and install the real audio codec under the codec section of the website. if your goal is to burn your real audio files onto a audio CD, do not convert them to mp3. by converting a lossy format to another lossy format, you will severly lose quality. Think of it as making a copy of a copy of a copy of a VHS tape...each generation gets worse. Instead, convert your real audio files to an uncompressed format such as WAV, then burn that to a CD.
Thank you very much! It worked great! I left most of the default settings as they were for the individual audio configurations because I wouldn't know what I'd be doing there. But the results are perfect. Thanks! drgnldy
