Converted DVD to MOV, Movie Has Horizontal Line Thingys

    Sorry to continue bugging you all with so many questions!

    I took a short concert video off a DVD and converted it to MOV. Although it was fine
    before, now it seems to have horizonal lines kind of coming out of the picture periodically,
    I notice it most during more "high action" parts. Here's what I mean (I tried to post the pic
    here but it wasn't showing up so please please look at the link to the screenshot!):

    What is that called when there are those jagged edges? Is that what they call interlacing? Is
    there any way to make that not happen? The video wasn't great quality to begin with--it's
    been copied from VHS taped 20 years ago--but there weren't those liney things on it until
    I converted it to quicktime (using DVDxDV).

    Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

    lines break, hooks snap, s@#t happens. it's not your fault, that will happen depending which conversion you do.
