    i just followed this tutorial
    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_avi_to_dvd_page_4.cfm and everything worked fine.
the only thing I'm not to happy with is the sound, the volume needs to be turned up a lot on my DVD player (technics sl-dv170).
is it possible to extract the audio from the original file(lame mp3) and convert it to a better format be i do the conversion again.
if it is can somebody point me in the write direction.

    of course you can.

i always use virtualdubmod and demux it.

for the volume you can use any audio encoder that you're familiar of to normalize it. save it to wav. or directly convert to the neede format.

or you can use an audio editor, the one that comes with nero will do just fine too.
