Converting a firmware file (.img)

    A supplier of an android box has given me a firmware file (.img) however when i copy the file to a USB drive and try to upgrade the firmware, i cannot see the file. I believe the file has to be a zip file for the android box to recognised. Does anyone know how i can convert the .img file to zip file?
